I want to show you my lattest game art work. It always was interesting for me to see how can look like modern car in some post apocalyptic future. So I decided to create Honda Civic 5d as game model. I think this is one of the most interesting cars today. For greater interest a car was placed in the certain desert.
From a technical side I didn't want to use high poly modeling at all, except some extreme moments. For determination of specification I researched a lot of games like Test Drive Unlimited, FarCry2, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. And I decided that budget for whole car with all props can be around 60 000 tris.
Because a car was done for a non-existent game, in modeling I wanted to create all parts maximally close to the real.
Final polygon budget:
Car - 36900 tris
All objects in car - 19800 tris
A lot of attention was devoted to the interior. I planed that virtual player will spend much time on driving so I decided to model almost all elements.

Highpoly geometry for normal was modeled just for Seats, Tires, Steel wheel, some button on dashboard, inside of door, 'Honda' Logo in headlight, jerrycan and radio`s cord.
Car was textured by 11 original textures. The biggest is Torpedo texture 2048x2048 'cause I wanted to save all the details. Other parts were textured in 1024x1024 and smaller for lights, glass, wheels etc. Some of them you can see below.
To give a car more life there were created about 35 different props which were put inward. Each prop may be used as single object.
At the end I wanted to say big thanks to my girlfriend for her car as a reference and for that patience when I spent so much time at computer working. Also want to say thanks to Sergey Khoruzhiy who helped me with some props and environment modeling.
